*GUIDE* Mountain Lion on OLD UNSUPPORTED MACS!

Hey guys. So, everyone seems to say ML will install, but no accelerated graphics on X3100. One person also said the GMA 950 is good to go, so if I installed ML, would it work fine w/o accelerated graphics until a fix comes around, or do the graphics already work or what?
 
When i tried to install Mountain Lion on mac mini 1,1 it says that my Mac Mini is unsupported. What should I do?
 
I am interested on the OSInstall.mpkg more exactly the distribution file
i want to know what are the differences between the original file and the patched version, can someone provide me the original version of this file?
Im trying to adapt this guide to the latest release (i have the latest distribution file but it has big changes between them) i noticed the adding of efi32 in there but there are some changes from:
10.8.0.1.1.1306847324 to 10.7.0.1.1.1306847324
PS: in meantime im trying to use the patched file with the latest OSX release to see if it works
(i have mac pro 1,1 with Ati 4890)

It should still work with the latest release....

GMA X3100 is fully supported, please check the other thread post #22.
 
Hackerwayne, is it possible to have graphics acceleration with x3100, but without having to reinstall ML? I'm asking, because when i have installed ML i have overwrited Lion, so i can't apply the guide as writed on post #22...

I'm using a MacBook4,1. If you can give me another solution, I'll appreciate. You have done a good job.

i was download afret pause and **** down when i want to resume i cant .. after a restart and try it show just download and no resume ..
help me .. i download 3 gb and now .. !! 🙁
 
Troubles with Mountain Lion and MacBook 2.16!

Hi!

I also tried to install Mountain Lion on my MacBook (Mid 2007). I obtained an image from the final version and followed all steps.

Now I have the following problem:

The steps 1 - 7 are working well. But when I try to reboot my Mac from the new "OSX install" flash drive, I all the time get a prohibition sign and Lion starts again from my SSD (Before I delete Lion I want to test the installation of Mountain Lion on a second partition). 😕

I also pressed "cmd + V" to get an information about what he`s doing while booting! I saw, that there are some error messages but couldn`t identify them (boot process is too fast for reading).

I saw that hackerwayne successfully installed Mountain Lion on an identical MacBook. Do I need something special for this device?

The only one thing which could be is, that in the "Packages" folder the "SIUResources.pkg" was absent. So I downloaded it from Internet and added it because I got the message that Mountain Lion can`t be installed because of some missing files before.

But now I have the problem with the prohibition sign and don`t know what to do!

I really become desperated now! 😡

Can anybody help me please?

Hi folks, firstly I'd like to thank y'all for the fantastic tutorials and the mountain of information spewed across this thread, this is greatly appreciated. However, after several attempts using multiple tutorials I'm still getting the famous no entry icon. I'm assuming my macbook 1,1 is just too old, I believe it's only 32bit, which is most likely the problem. Can anyone confirm this indeed is the reason so I can give up with the knowledge that I failed through no fault of my own? Thanks in advance.

A post suggesting a graphics card to solve this issue, in the Apple Store. It's not cheap, but considering what a "supported Mac Pro" would cost... I have not installed it or tried the ML "hack" install, but will let you all know. Right now there are more pressing issues (deadlines) that have precedence; will get back to it soon.

After installing on my imac with Intel 950, the kext for the videocard not loading at boot... every time when i click on the launchpad the system freeze and i need to restart forcely... there are a fix for this problem?

Really? Did you try that? The Final Version does not work with any of the available tutorials because apple removed or added something from or to the installation... that's why i want to know the differences. How do you explain that the build 12A128p (GM) Presented in this thread works and the 12A269 (FV) does not work anymore? Firs i though that i missed something in reading i thing over 30 tutorials out there, but basically 2: one based on chameleon boot and one with including efi32.pkg and some old system folder (where all the difference is that you get more mac models in the allow boot bla bla bla).

Not at the moment, Quartz Extreme isnt working for GMA 950
 
i upgraded to mountain lion 🙁 and now my imac wont detect my external harddrive or my hdtv through dvi connection?? ive tried all the PRAM reset still doesnt work?/ whats going on here? 🙁
 
Hi there, i have bought on eBay macbook core 2 duo 2.14Ghz mid 2007. Now it has snow leopard. I have a few questions.
1. What the best way for installing ML on my device from SL?
2. Now device have 2gb ram. Need I upgraded it to 4gb?
3. Maybe the best will bay and install lion or mountain lion will better on old device?
