So many people's reactions to manga are cringe-worthily ill informed.

Imagine if every time any (serious) US-made movie was announced people made a joke about Michael Bay explosions and slow-mo running. It makes about as much sense. Would that just be ignorant or would you see it as racist and dismissive of a serious form of art?

I would say add in a comment about lens flare and you're spot on.
I really really don't get it. There are hundreds if not thousands of successful CEO's out there with great skills and vision. Sure Steve reigned over the biggest company, and Apple's success story is amazing, but is Steve Jobs' life even remotely unique and interesting? He started a company, and it was a huge success. End of story. How is that so interesting that we have books, movies, and now a manga?
You serious? They'll have an over-muscled Jobs in spandex with an
logo on his chest. He'll tool around in an Apple-mobile taking out hordes of PC and android users with shaped projectiles. *Sock!* *Pow!* *Bam* Oh wait. That's DC Comic.Marvel Comics...ummm...Jobs back story. He's sitting under an apple tree when a radioactive apple falls on his head, granting him the powers to distort reality and impressive muscles tone.
Sorry, with all the stereotypes being tossed about, I sort of got caught up in the moment.
As a manga publisher, I think it's wonderful that this title is getting some overseas attention. Contrary to popular belief, most manga transcend mere entertainment and are meant to be informative and educational.
Actually, Steve might actually have loved it. He loved Japan and the Japanese aesthetic, and frequently visited this country on vacation.

That's a bit mistranslated, especially the Colorado part.
This is more accurate.

Also, the original Japanese in the last sentence is striking me as a bit weird. Doesn't 被写体 mean the subject of a photograph? Not sure what the word would be for a subject of a biography...

would be the appropriate translation.

with your translation, it would sound like "this is not a big deal and you came all the way?"
Mine would be like a excitement about the topic.
And about the subject I totally forgot to add on my translated comic strip.

If you look at my earlier translation I had it on there.
I'm looking forward to the anime version. The English subtitles are not always faithful to the English audio. For example, the English audio describes the Major of "Ghost In The Shell" as "tough broad" (IIRC) but the English subtitle used the word "dyke" instead.
Making his movies, anime, manga are all okay, I guess. But don't you think that his life story is being exploited?
