Walmart Offering 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Mini for $299

I got one for with a 50 dollar coupon at staples canada a couple weeks ago, that was even a better deal!

I just checked and that's for the refurbs. The new ones are $329. (http://www.walmart.com - search "ipad mini")

I'm waiting for the retina version BUT it has to be the same dimensions and weight!!

So does Microcenter (At least the one here in Houston).

Are they trying to clear the inventory? Does this mean the iPad Mini is on the cusp of an upgrade in the coming weeks? I don't care about the retina display as much as more storage and faster processor (for same price schedule as the old one...or maybe even a lower price???).

Don't jump the ship guys. Just wait for the retina. This is not that much of a price drop.

If you don't go by that link, you'll see what I'm saying. Search iPad mini on the Walmart website and the $299 models that show up are refurbs, and that one is $329. It's oly when you click the $329 model that it shows up as priced $299 like in the link you provided. I guess the search engine is just not updated, but it is true, they are $299. Quite the deal.

I JUST bought one for $329 on Monday... whatever, I can't complain, it's only $30 and I got a deal on the case, and I'm loving it either way.

They should offer the 32gb iPod touch at a lower price as well.

I think we all know what thiw means! New iPad by mothers day.

That's exactly the idea. They're probably taking a loss at $299 so they're hoping to sell a few items with better margins while you're at it.

1 - You're a lot more likely to add items to a real cart if you physically walk by them than you are to add them to a virtual cart if you scroll by them.
2 - If you're already spending $299, you won't feel bad about dropping another few dozen dollars on items you wouldn't otherwise consider acceptably priced.

Definitely agree. Not sure why they went with the 329 price point. But some statistical genius smarter than me probably figured margins and aura for the product would be higher with the 329 price point.
