OS X Sixtyforce - The Ocarina of Time issues with playing ocarina

I've been playing The Ocarina of Time on sixtyforce. It runs beautifully. Unfortunately when I attempt to play certain songs on the ocarina (such as The Song of Time) the game does not recognize it whatsoever.

The pause menu clearly shows I have learned the song. It worked when I opened the door in the Temple of Time, but since then the game has not recognized it.

Any help would be appreciated because if I cannot use certain songs I won't be able to complete the game!
