Hi guys,
I have here a 11' late 2010 macbook air wich the fan is always full speed.
smcfancontrol reports 000rpm and 35-40ºC (and the computer feels fresh)
I've just made a fresh install of snow leopard and then mountain lion with all the updates - no effect
The EFI and SMC are updated.
tried SMC Reset and PRAM reset - no changes.

Is there a way of running diagnostic on this?I can't find ASD 3S144 and don't have the original pendrive that came with it...
Even with 10.8.3 installed if I press D nothing happens.

Question 1 - do anyone has a tip?
Question 2 - do you think it can be the fan sensor?

I don't have problems opening computers and that stuff...
Thanks

I'm a rolling stone.
I've been there but quite don't understood.
As I said I've tried pressing d but no go.
Is the sensor on the fan, heatsink or logic board?

It says so on that page.

For Apple computers that shipped with Mac OS X v10.5.5 to 10.6.7, Apple Hardware Test is located on the Applications Install Disc 2 and should be included with your computer.

Yours came with 10.6.4 so it is located on the 2th Disk.

if ur lucky is the fan's sensor. Replace fan, yer done.

But if ur not afraid of DIY, open it up and clean fan. Dirt may have obstructed the sensor.

Then you are out of luck.

Oh, and that ASD version does not support your Mac.

Sorry, I meant 3S142.

Thanks,
I've worked on a computer store and repaired several macs, so no problem opening this one.
Just oredered a pentalobe key and I'll try to clean it first, then if it doesn't work, I'll order a fan.
