What would be the correct cable to purchase to connect these two considering taking into account speed and cost of the cable?

Any links to cables would be appreciated.
Any additional information would also be appreciated.
I am new to this.

Have a 2011 macbook pro with ports:
- firewire 800
- thunderbolt

Camcorder (Cannon Optura 20) that has these ports:
- DV (in/out)
- S-Video (in/out)
- AV (in/out yellow port)

The DV port is firewire. It should have four pins. Sony calls this "iLink" The mMac has 6 pins. They cal the cable a 4 to 6 pin.

But there are two knods of fire wire: FW800 and FW400. You might fnd an iLink to FW800 cable but likely you will want a iLink to FW400 and a FW400 to FW800 adaptor.

They also make a DV to FW400 adaptor then you would need a fw400 to fw800 cable.

monoprice.com has the best prices on cable most of the time. None of the items I listed above is over $3.
