Hello dear forum. This is my first post, I've searched thoroughly and couldn't find what I was looking for so here's a little thread.

I'm currently on a 1181 late 2006 whitebook, which is slowly deceasing.
The logic board does not support the battery anymore and lots of other things are going wrong.

Luckily my friends have given me their old notebooks, one black 2006 (i think) and a whitebook from 2009, the last one made.

What I want to do is to take the display from the 2006 and put it in the 2009 one, the newer one was put over candlelights and does not work anymore.

Will that work?

I've read somewhere about different airport antennas and cable lengths, and was wondering if anybody has experience with a similar project.

Then I'm gonna take out the optical drive and replace it with a HDD, is there any DIY-solution or do I need to buy a holder for it?

then I'm gonna pimp the finished one with a black keyboard and black screen-frame, kinda backwards-oreo style.. :)

Wow thats a lot of text.
Thanks for being a cool forum!

Ole
