Apple today released a minor iOS 6.1.4 update, bringing an updated audio profile for speakerphone. The new version, which arrives as Build 10B350, appears to only be for the iPhone 5.

The update did not involve a beta testing period for developers and follows the release of iOS 6.1.3 in mid-March.

And I thought with the Galaxy S4 and HTC One launch, there was nobody left on the iPhone. Weird.

The new audio profile shifts the speakerphone frequencies lower so everyone sounds like James Earl Jones.

"Hi Mom, you're on speakerphone ... hey, would you mind saying, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force"?

Here's a brilliant idea Apple, please fix the battery drain problem BEFORE addressing something that isn't really an issue.
