Why is it the white iPhone 3GS is rare out in public?

Correcting already corrected statements are a ridiculous waste of space for people trying to read through the thread.

I don't need 5 people telling me the guy was wrong - the 1st one was good enough, but thanks anyway.
 
Its rare you see any colour of iPhone 3G in public these days. The phone is 4 years old now and most people who had it would have had it on contract and got rid of it by now. I know somebody with one and saw one in the Apple store a while back when the lady was told it was dead. The thing looked like it had been found in a house fire.
