So a week later I can't say the problem is gone but it's less obvious and definitely not systematic coming from long sleep periods. But it still occurs once in a while, then closing the lid for 10 seconds makes it fine again... I sure hope 10.8.4 fixes this...

Screen flicker 10.8.3 on two Macbook Air late 2010

Same behaviour here - also noticed that on a couple of occasions a lid close became unnecessary after about 10 seconds of flicker.
Still happening on both our late 2010 Airs.
Fewer issues when plugged in
FWIW, I discovered that if I plug into power before taking it out of sleep, the issue occurs less frequently.
Do wish AAPL would fix this already, though....

Spoiler : it's a Snow Leopard reinstall procedure...
But it made me realize that 1) I don't really use or care for Lion / Mountain Lion-only features and 2) SL is way more suited for my modest MBA config...
I now have more free disk space, faster boot, faster resume time and no more screen flickering!
So for now that's it, I couldn't stand this %!$*#&§ flickering anymore...

So 10.8.4 is out now, the release notes don't mention anything about this issue but I guess it could still be fixed...

So far, appears to be OK
I upgraded while plugged in at the Apple Store in San Fran last week, but didn't have a chance to try it while disconnected from power until once yesterday. So far, no issues, but that was just once...

...yes, unfortunately. I had to upgrade from Snow Leopard because using WLAN/Airport caused freezes (known problem ..) now I suffer from panics connected to the graphic card driver. I won't dare to bring this MacBookPro into a surrounding where I normally support Apple users ...
