iPod iPod Classic Update?

What is the biggest HDD or SSD that you can put in an iPod Classic?
I'm sort of waiting for an update, but maybe a second hand one with a SSD upgrade would be even better to put in my car instead of the vintage CD changer that's in there (unused) right now 🙂

320gb according to maximum pc
 
It looks like the only option might be to mod an existing Classic with a larger hard dive. That 320GB Toshiba drive would keep me satisfied for quite a few years.

I don't want or need a lightning connector on the Classic. The iPod works flawlessly with the existing connector in many applications. To change the connector would make hundreds of thousands of car stereos obsolete.

What Apple should do is make the Classic a little bit larger so it could more easily accommodate larger hard drives and market it to Audiophiles. It would be a quiet seller in that community.
 
Lightening port for iPod Classic

I know speculation is so much fun... but any chance you *think* Apple may release an iPod Classic with the new port soon?
 
I find myself wondering what else they could really do with the Classic. WiFi won't really work with the click wheel, which I think is at the essence of the classic. Click wheels have been gradually disappearing from the Apple line up as a whole, so I'm guessing that it's going to be discontinued soon.

They could add more colours, but would people buy it? It'd look too much like the 3rd gen nano too. In my opinion they need more features than just the lightning connector to get people to buy it. I don't see the memory options needing to go any higher on the Classic either.
 
Mac Pro and ipod classic aren't huge sellers. A very small percentage of what they sell. They are very expensive. Ipod Classic is perfect if you want most your music in 1 spot or are traveling. I feel it's too much to work out with..... 320gb is how many songs? Over 20K

I have an old 30gb ipod video which was my 1st apple product I got when I bought the macbook(white in 2005). Still works great and use it for runs and to travel for work. Don't want to be running around with a iphone 5s in poor areas of Latin America.

I think it will stay as it is. Apple has made it as good as it will get
