Camera improvements in iOS 7! (iPhone 5)

Has anyone else noticed camera improvements?

The display seems to have a higher fps and panorama mode is crazy good. Cant believe how well it paints the image together instantly as you're turning! Better AF too?

Camera+ appears to still take photos but when you go to view the image for editing, it disappears.

It takes pictures crazy fast. I took my son to the park and tested it and they turned out awesome. No animation of the pictures going to the folder though.

Release notes state that iOS 7 can shoot up to 60 fps, vs only 30 in iOS 6. Not sure if the camera in the iPhone 5 has that capability or not, but that could be what you are seeing.

Yeah, I saw that. The iPhone 5S must can do 60.

I'm voting that the 5 will do 60 FPS. I read that iOS 5 would allow apps to do 60 then iOS 6 only allows 30.

The 4S is also quicker, it feels like the shutter speed is half the time what it was in iOS 6

Indeed. Nevertheless, that "720p60" mode, which was only available on the 4S and no other iOS5-capable models (no iPad3, for example, let alone older models), only recorded video at 360 vertical resolution. Hopefully the 60p support in iOS7 won't be the same cr@ppy implementation but true at least 720p60 if not 1080p60 on all 1080p-capable models (4S, 5 and hopefully even all the iPads).

How about the open to shoot time on the 4s?

Just did a rough count, it's around 4 seconds from opening the app and taking the pic, sometimes the app is slow to open though but the shutter speed is consistently quick

Does it still do the stupid shutter close animation? Seems like that really slows down trying to rapid fire photos.

Is there finally a way to disable the shutter sound without muting the phone? I hate having to remember to mute the phone whenever I want to take a photo without disturbing people, then unmute it after.

No more shutter animation. In fact, there's actually very little animation at all when you snap a shot now.

The 5 can shoot 60fps. I've tested.

in a nutshell, wheres the option for 720p60fps on iphone4S, is it on iOS6 or iOS7? did i miss something...?

In third-party apps and in iOS5 only - check out my dedicated posts at the above link.

I will test this on iOS7b1 too.

I took a handful of pics of my kid and dog yesterday, and I just kept tapping the shutter, and pictures were taken each time. I shot like 5 or 6 fps manually. I couldn't believe it.

If you don't want to disturb people wouldn't you want to keep you phone muted? It does still make the shutter noise and I couldn't find any way to turn it off..
