You guys seem very knowledgeable with the unlocks, so I have a question.

I have 2 iPhone 4 that are out of contract, in good standing with AT&T. I called them and am now waiting for the email with the confirmation to unlock.

I have 2 brand new iPhone 5's to replace them. However, I don't know if I can activate my new phones before I unlock my old ones. I want to unlock them to sell. So, my question is, if I activate the 5's, can I still unlock the 4's when I get the confirmation email or does the 4's have to be active for the unlock to work through iTunes.

Thanks!
You can go ahead and activate the new ones. I had no trouble getting a 4 unlocked after already activating a 5 on the same line.

iPhone 5 lock status is not accurate

I just received notification from cutyoursim that my iPhone 5 unlock is completed

http://s-url.ro/ says Locked, BUT it also says:

"iPhone 5 lock status is not accurate! Apple DB not updated yet!"

I did connect to itunes, with my AT&T sim installed, AND updated to firmware 6.01. I did not notice a message saying I'm unlocked. But my phone is already activated and already has a sim installed with AT&T service.

http://dev.mk/iphone-simlock-status-imei-checker/
says I'm locked.

http://iphoneox.com/ says:
"Sim lock status: Sorry... No information about this imei!"

There is no tmobile store here in Santa Cruz CA, so I currently have no way to verify the unlock with a Tmobile SIM

My goal ultimately is to use speedtest to compare AT&T and Tmobile data speeds. I expect Tmobile, which is limited to 3g data speeds on iPhones, to be slower than my AT&T 4g.

Since I upgraded from my previous iPhone 3GS, on AT&T with 3g data speeds, to my current iPhone 5, with 4g data speeds, I see 6 times faster data.

I'm guessing Tmobile 3G data will be equally slow.

I use the free app called speed test, from the App Store.

I have not found a single website to correctly display the status of unlocked iPhone 5 devices.

Get online/eBay and order a T-Mobile nano sim, put some time on it then slap it in your iPhone 5. If it works, then you know for sure.

I always keep an active T-Mobile sim just for verifying the unlock status of AT&T iPhones

Update

I HAZ SUCCESS!

I used iTunes to RESTORE my ATT Usa iPhone 5 firmware.

Resulted in a message that says:

"Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked."

Moral of the story, a RESTORE was required to enable And VERIFY the unlock for my iPhone 5.

the imei checking websites still all say Locked

> I always keep an active T-Mobile sim just for verifying the unlock status of AT&T iPhones

thanks for the suggestions and feedback. Im confident my unlock has been applied now.

agreed, thanks for the link, works for my imei also, does not say unlocked, it says unblocked (same difference as I know mine is unlocked from iTunes restore):

"Result Your IMEI Number is currently unblocked."

the other 3 imei checking sites have not changed, they say locked or unavailable

Hey guys, question.

It seems I can get an ATT unlock code for my iphone for a limited time. Currently I'm on 6.1.4, and was pretty thrilled to see the 6.1.4 JB is around the corner. Do you guys think its worth upgrading to ios 7 and losing the impending jb in order to unlock my phone?

This website can ONLY Check if your iPhone is BLOCKED in the Australia. You can't check the simlock status using this site.

I wouldn't trust my IMEI using a Russian site.
