Composing Problem in 10.8.4 Mail

Hi all, I have a question regarding composing mail in OS X 10.8.4.

I have inadvertently set the character palette into the main message when you are composing a message, just above the To field - see attached image.



Can someone tell me how to get rid of it? I've tried everywhere!
