Ahead of a "very busy fall" for Apple, Mac mini ship times on many Apple Online Stores have slipped to 5-7 business days.

macminishippingtimes.png
All other Macs on the online store have shipping estimates of "within 24 hours". That said, most Apple Retail Stores do show availability for the mini, as does Amazon.com.

Apple sometimes does have temporary product shortages of computers mid-cycle, but they can also portend intentional drawdowns of stock ahead of a product refresh. The Mac mini is a candidate for an upgrade to Haswell processors, and it is coming due for a possible update according to the MacRumors Buyer's Guide.

Good news, especially because these will use the same chips that go into the rMBP. Which means they can't be that far behind.

Hopefully this coming week we see something.

I think it's finally time to pop a 2.33 gHz Core 2 Duo into my 2007 Mac Mini...

Wouldn't be surprised if the only Mac line that doesn't use SSDs is upgraded with just that (with the exception of the original MacBook Pro, though the Retina MacBook Pro is technically part of the same line).

Oh crap I just bought a Mac mini about a month ago!

But I'm not really complaining, I knew there was a possible refresh soon. It's still way faster than the 2007 CoreDuo2 mini it replaced.

There'd better be. These machines should have faster CPUs and GPUs for the cost. By the way, we have an old white Mac mini server, and it's amazingly reliable and powerful (as a server).

More than two displays would be nice. 2 Thunderbolt ports and an HDMI port would be perfect.

Please for the love of god offer a GPU on the mid range Mini...

If they go all Quad, they may have just the 4600...because putting the Iris HD 5200 across would probably be too expensive.

But it's possible. They may do that and offer the HD 5100 Iris dual-core option on the low end.

Don't expect anything dedicated however, those days are over. The 2011 model with the 256mb ATI card was the last one (have one of those actually).

Maybe the new Mac mini will be a shiny black donut.
To match the new Mac Pro. :)

I was thinking about that... That would be hilarious. In reality, if they were to redesign it, it would probably be a small cylinder, but it wouldn't make sense to redesign it and lose the stacking/stand capability that the current shape gives.

Thank God!

These little machines will be bad ass with haswell.

What GPU will they have?
4600 or 5000 or 5100 or 5200?

Also I really hope this means rMBP and 10.9 is also coming soon

I can dare to dream, though. I have the 2011 with the 6630m and I love it, but a bump to a quad CPU would be nice.
Add a dedicated GPU and bam, near perfect machine (for me at least).
