Screen starting to pulse when displaying dark grey colors

I have the cheapest 13-inch MBP, mid 2012.

When I'm at sites with specific colors, like the dark grey here: https://cloudconvert.org/

and the background here: http://bugmenot.com/

The screen starts acting up, seemingly changing from light to dark fast and repeatedly.

Is this a normal problem on macs?
