Hi,
there are a number of threads on best apps but I have not seen one for apps which work offline. I also could not find an easy way to search for these in the app store. Reason I am asking is two-fold:

1. I have an ipad mini with only wifi and wifi is not readily available everywhere in Europe (for instance I commute by train to work 30 mins each way)

2. I do a lot of air miles and although some international routes do offer wifi, it is not so frequent and the prices are crazy

Here is my current list:

AVPlayerHD - for movies (will not try the new VLC)
Pocket - for offline reading
Noteshelf - to review my notes
Dropbox - I try to synch before travelling
Evernote - I try to synch before travelling
GoodReader - for reading pdf

and then I have a couple of games
The Room - just finished it :(
Infinity Blade - getting a bit boring to be honest
Interlocked - racked my brain solving a couple of these ;)

So what are the best offline ipad apps that you use. Any category is welcome (education, productivity, games, etc)

many thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Pocket Earth

thanks. Pocket Earth looks pretty good - might check it out.

I forgot to mention but I've been using CityMaps2Go for offline maps which seems to work in the same way. You choose cities and it downloads the maps. Resolution is pretty good and the maps seem to be updated quite regularly.

I also forgot to mention Pikki which I use to scan receipts - this is great due to all the business travel I do :D

any other suggestions out there?
