I've so far enjoyed my new 12 inch iBook, but as school started and all these cases that require Excel made me realize there's a 19 inch lcd somewhere out there that just can't wait to plug itself into my iBook, and help me to stop looking at the screen like a 90-year old. Basically I don't play games, do any graphics design etc. just internet and office (and p0rn...).

The stongest choice at the moment is LG L1950S 19 incher. But i have no clue, what all these features given for the monitors mean in practice.

The LG:
max resolution : 1280 x 1024
15pin D-Sub Analog
brightness : 250 cd/m2
contrast ratio : 500 : 1
viewing angle : 160/160 (H/V)
response time : 12 ms
Colors : 16.2M.

now i guess these are adequate but there's some other monitors i've been lookin with brightness @ 350 and contrast ratio @ 800:1. Are thers features noticeable in normal use (no gaming etc.).

Thanks a bunch.
