Apple TV AirPlay pauses whenever I leave podcast app

I have a problem. When I throw a podcast to my Apple TV it now pauses when I leave the Podcast app to do other things on the iPad. It didn't used to do that. It used to continue streaming my podcast as I surfed or opened any other app as long as media didn't play. I can't find any settings to restore this. Am I missing something? Need help as this is VERY annoying.

I figured it out. I had to hit the back button when on the "This video is now playing on the Apple TV" grey screen. Then I can exit the podcast app and the video will continue playing on the Apple TV. I never used to have to do that. I could exit the video app at anytime and the video would not pause. Kind of a stupid change that will frustrate people but oh well.
