Is it possible to make Screenflow 3 or Voila 3.5 record a live screencast at a predefined time while I'm away from the computer?
Neither of the software seems to have this function built in and I've looked into Automator but couldn't get it to work.

I'm sure it's fine. I have no particular software preferences for this.
How do I make Quicktime record at a specified time?

Make an Applescript something like this to record and save the Applescript as an application. Then create a Calendar (iCal) event at the date/time you want and have the alarm for that event run the Applescript.

check out the new screen capture, start capture, stop capture (all movie actions) and the pause action actions in automator.

if its a long recording i would rather set up an ical alarm as well to stop the capture instead of using the pause action unless you plan on being back before it should stop recording.

save the workflow as an ical alarm and that should be it.
