This could mean big trouble for Apple.
Big mouth VP? Even if there was an agreement like that, Apple won't have written it in a way so that it would become a big anti-trust liability down the road.
Pretty much how the entire gaming industry rolls, so to speak. MS pays for 360 exclusives, Sony pays for PS3 exclusives, they both pay to keep games off the PC. Not surprising that mobile device companies are getting into it.
I think the one thing we can be certain of is that "Frank Gibeau" will be searching for employment soon.
This is a non-story. It seems MacRumors is getting a little to heavy in sensational journalism lately.
Oh, a company paying for exclusivity, shocking!
This could mean big trouble for Apple.
I haven't played Plants vs Zombies 2... only the game Customers vs In App Purchases.
Why? This is how business operates.
What's really happening here is that Frank Gibeau is letting everyone know that he can be bought so others will "contribute" in the future, and perhaps create a bidding war.
What?
Why?
And this is news because?
Companies pay for exclusivity all the time!
Not really. It's not cool, that's for sure, but it's not unprecedented behavior in the content realm. And it's not like EA didn't agree to it in the end.
really nice move of EA to cash in the money and then tell everyone that apple bribed them...
Lame practice for Apple as well as EA. Think of what can happen legally.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Halo being developed for the Mac (and windows), until MS bought bungie, so the xbox would have an exclusive flagship title?
Is this much different?
