I don't have a rMBP yet, but I'm trying to do a little research.

From what I understand, OSX will adjust to monitors that are different, say having a 15" retina screen and also a 23" 1900x1080 screen. Otherwise the large font size required on the retina would be too huge on the regular HD screen, or something that shows up normal on the HD screen would be tiny on the retina screen.

Is there a list of known shortcomings? As in applications that do not play nice with rMBP and multiple monitors?

I know RDP does not handle it, but there may be some other alternatives.
I'm unsure about virtualization applications like virtualbox, fusion, and parallels.
