GT 755M vs GTX660M

How much better will the new base 27 graphic card be in real word performance in terms of gaming?

Also, better to get Fusion drive or step up to GT 775M with 7,200 HDD?

Not sure about the 755m


I would go with the fusion drive over the 7.2k HDD

lets dont forget core speed and 755M(not 775M right?) has 1g vRAM vs 512 from 660m...so 755M is more suit for 27" and 1440p


780M is 15% faster than last year 680M, not 660m

I've got the new 27" iMac 2013 base model. I've only installed Diablo 3 so far, but it seemed pretty slick to me :)

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the replies. It's a two part question.

1. GT 755M vs last years GTX660M performance difference

2. When deciding between GPU and storage, what would you upgrade? The GT 755 M to GT 775M or stay with the base GPU configuration and get Fusion instead?

GPU has priority due to impossibility to add later. You have thunderbolt and usb 3.0 for optional storage
so i would go with high end model without optionals

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and go with the following:

3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2GB GDDR5

I've just got exactly the same only with an i7. A good choice, especially seeing as I'm going to upgrade the RAM for 1/4 of the price further down the line. I don't think the extra GPU power for $150 or whatever it is will really be worth it, unless you're doing a LOT of intense graphics work, in which case you'd probably go for a Mac Pro anyway.

And anyway, you could always spend the money you saved on 300 candy bars. ;)
