Didn't see another post in here, so decided to document my issue.
Apple TV model: md199LL/A
Software version: 6.0 (6646.65)
Rented a movie, chose to watch now.
Halfway thru movie, hit pause.
Came back 10 min later, hit menu button by mistake.
Went back to movie, and $4.99 button appeared instead of resume play.
Chose to rent again, just to see what had happened. Gave me a message that said i had already rented the movie and I should go to Settings->Downloads->Check for Downloads. This options does NOT exist in the settings menu; but, I found a similar option under iTunes Store->Check for Rentals. It just spun, and did nothing.
Checked "rented" section in movies, and it was blank
The exact same thing happened to me the week before, but I thought it was a fluke.
After some looking around online came upon this thread
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5386574?start=0&tstart=0
Apparently others have had the same issue.
I chose to sign out of iTunes on the Apple TV, and when I went back to movies, and looked under "rentals", it was there. Granted i did find a workaround this times but I did not find this solution last week, and basically lost $4.99.
This could be an issue for several folks, and should be addressed in an update or fix on their side (servers, broken links etc).
