I haven't heard anything about the Play:1 featuring DLNA support - which would be very odd since Sono's has never supported it. However it isn't really fair to compare them with cheap bluetooth speakers since that's not the market that Sonos does. Sonos uses a mesh network that interacts with their own devices that can operate independently of your computer or in conduction with it. They offer way more intelligence than just a simple speaker.

My research indicates that this is pretty much just a lower end version of their Play:3 and incorporates the same overall networking tech as their other devices.
