$399 for iPad mini 16GB is way too much. Guess I will keep my iPad 2 for one more year...

$399 for a new iPad 2? What a joke!

I can't believe they managed to get the weight from 1.4 pounts to 1 pound. That's amazing. Definitely upgrading my iPad 3rd ASAP.

The weight is indeed impressive. I was holding out for a Retina iPad Mini because I like to read in bed and holding up a heavy tablet for hours is a bit much. But at 1 lb., the full size iPad should be fine for long-term holding, depending on the case one uses.

I still might go for the retina mini, it will depend on battery life.

iPad 2 is an odd offering. Apple neutered the performance of the iPad Air for weight, so it would have made sense to EOL the iPad 2 and offer an ultimate performance iPad that weighed more. More of Apple shooting themselves in the foot with a thin fetish that doesn't even offer the option of "faster and thicker".

Disappointed that we didn't see a Mac Mini refresh, which is odd because the refresh is overdue.

It was nice to see a price drop in Macbook Pro prices though, but still for me nothing hugely relevant.

Also have happy that Mavericks is free =)

This will really help me sell my 2011 iMac and iPad 4. The iMac has to be reverted to Snow Leopard which can update free to Mavericks, and the iPad 4 is brand new in box and is now more worth $400 than what Apple sells at the same price. Score!

with the decrease of only 29 of the original mini, people shouldn't lose too much resale value. a shame that the mini retina starts at 399.

Hang on? They INCREASED the Mini's price? WTF? But EVERY other competitor to the mini has the same or better screen res for a hell of a lot less money! Well I guess they have to pay the Mavericks developers somehow?

Except at these sizes your not getting any benefit of a 1080p screen. A retina display is every bit as good as they are at these sizes, the point being you cant discern the pixels.

I can't believe people are still shocked that Apple's products are more expensive than the competition. That's never going to change. But there's plenty of options for people who don't like it.

How does the Nexus have better screen resolution? The retina Mini is 2048 x 1536.

They had a 12" Powerbook, but apart form that I don't think they did.

Well that's not due to Apple. The market decides the laptop sizes. So the screens probably switched to 11 from 12 and they made a 11 one. Like they switched from 30" to 27" on their displays, not their choice, the default panel size changed.

Thats a punk move with the Mini. They should've had the retina mini start at 299. Also, 32GB should be the standard from now on, this ain't 2007, they can go screw themselves with that 16gb.

Apple is becoming boring, and that's not a good thing. While the MacPro shows the most innovation, everything else is just more of the same with the usual expected upgrades. Apparently investors arent happy either with the stock dropping -$9.48 at the close of the keynote.

Damn fine showing with Mavericks, not fussed about iPads etc. And MacPro starting as predicted.

Overall a good showing from Apple. Much better than I thought.
