Or its just scheme to make more money by offloading this necessary additional cost to the consumer and not bundling it. Kinda sad that an $800 dell desktop comes with a keyboard and mouse.

And crappy 19" monitor.. and an ink jet printer.

Apples to oranges though.

Errr.... Actually not. I bought a "Flagship" 2010 Mac Pro Server and guess what, no mouse or keyboard was included.

You're just being obtuse.
The Mac Pro Server was a specialist product released to replace the X-serve and not a normal Mac Pro - all of which have been sold with a keyboard and mouse.
According to the Mac Tracker app and Appleinsider the keyboard & mouse were included with the Mac Pro server too (see link below)
http://forums.appleinsider.com/products/apple-mac-pro-server-mc915ll-a-2010
Maybe it was just that you could opt out of them.
But hey, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and will revise my statement...
EVERY Mac tower ever made has been sold with a keyboard and mouse and every Mac Pro since 2003 (excluding the Mac Pro server) has been sold with a keyboard and mouse too.
Still my point stands...now I await the 'aaah, but the new Mac Pro is not a tower' brigade to chirp in! :)

You misunderstand. 10 pence is also inconsequential. Would I give it to you if you asked me on the street? No.

No I understand perfectly.
I simply demonstrated that you are wrong and it is indeed 'of consequence', you've simply demonstrated that you are also stingy! :)

Disagree on the first point, since you did no such thing. You are, however, correct with your second point.

No you're in good company.
That's an absolute joke - ****ing shameful actually, an absolute disgrace!
Shame on you Apple, shame on you.
Apple mice are junk anyway, I've got a drawer full of new ones.

Am I the only one that finds this a bit annoying? I mean it's not a huge deal, but for the price you'd think they'd give you a keyboard and mouse/trackpad.

Why do they bother to put "keyboard and mouse sold separately" under "What's in the box", should be "What's not in the box".

Am I the only one who loves that they're not included? I hate having extra waste from a purchase. I already have a wirelese apple keyboard and a wireless razer mamba mouse that I LOVE!

What would I do with the new keyboard and mouse? Sell them? Give them away? I'd rather not have to worry about it. If this is your first comp, I can see you needing peripherals but most professionals already have a setup and are just upgrading.

People will defend any bad decision that apple makes. It's absurd.

People defend the locked down highly restricted iPhone.

People defend the blatant android ripoff that is Ios 7.

People defend getting rid of the optical drive while raising the price.

people defend the retina MBP not being upgradeable with smaller storage yet costing more.

now defending them for not including the keyboard and mouse in a >2000 dollar computer.

Im convinced, people here can't see apples faults at all.

I like mist apple stuff, but I'm not gonna act like it's perfect

Nice try, but it's not an Apple thing.

When I worked in IT we had stacks of new keyboards and drawers full of new mice that went unused because every beige boxed computer came with them and most users preferred their existing mouse/kb because they were used to them, or they wanted something special (ergonomic, black, multimedia, more buttons, trackballs, trackpads, and even one Dvorak).

Including stuff that so many don't want and don't use is incredibly wasteful. This just doesn't seem like a big mistake to me.

Now if you happen to like the wired keyboard and magic mouse, I can see why you're irritated, but I don't think it rises to the level of being a mistake by Apple, and yes, they've had a few big mistakes.

OMG SSD is more expensive. Apple is making bad decision....

If you think a $3000 computer that can drive three $4000 4k displays and the first thing is the cost of keyboard, you are probably not the target audience of the product.
