EyeTV HD - controlling cable box

I have the latest version of EyeTV. I just bought an EyeTV HD box off of ebay. I can get a picture, but I can't get the TV guide to show up. I also can't find any tv listings using the EyeTV configuration walk-through. I want to be able to control my cable box through EyeTV so I can access HD cable channels.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Do I need to subscribe to the program guide to be able to change the channel on my cable box through the EyeTV HD box?
