Finder crashed, unable to remove report or us iMac

After normal shut down, later turned on and an empty bar appeared below the Apple and then took a long time to fill. Once logged in iMac shut down, this repeated several times. Opened with C and Disk Warrior, finally rebult directory, hardware check on HD ok etc. Now when I start-up, get the crash report and will not clear screen whe 'OK' selected and can not open any other apps from the dock like pages, mail, but Safari does work that is how I am able to ask this question. Late 2009 iMac 21.5 with OS x Mavericks installed about 3 days. Can show report if it would help.
