After having to restore my MacBook Air from a Time Machine Backup (botched system software upgrade attempt), starting up Mail says that I have to import my messages to use Mail.
Every time I do it, it gets stuck after a few thousand messages (different but similar number each time).
I've done a search on this issue, and the only solutions I've found are: (1) delete files that start with the word "Envelope Index". I tried that, and it does not help. (2) Duplicate the Mail folder in Library and use the duplicate instead. Didn't help either.
Any help please? I cannot use Mail until this is resolved.
Thanks very much!
