BTW, I just noticed you said 12 hours of FCP X work! :eek: Does the train have power outlets?

Ygs but it helps to have a power strip or splitter if your seat mate wants to use it too. Only one outlet per pair of seats. Better yet on a long trip is to spring for a sleeper where you get a decent sized desk and a comfortable bed.

Much depends on the size/shape of the tray, elbow room (or lack of same), and comfort of the seat. I think those vary considerably by airline, class of seat, and model of plane.

Yeah, I was on an American 757 where the bottom of the seat slid forward a bit when you reclined it, so the seat back didn't intrude as much into the row behind it. Was still challenging to use my MBP13, the screen barely cleared the seat back in front of me while on the tray.
