£1000 to spend for Xmas...

11" MacBook Air 256GB
OR.. 13" MacBook Pro

I like the size and HDD of the 13" Pro, but I love everything else about the Air..

My current 11" Air is running out of space big time and is getting sold..

the mbp has a better screen (despite lower res)
i also really like the upgradability.
BUT: the mba is much snappier and the mbp runs on old hardware.
always go for the mba!

i think the 11' is fantastic cuz its portable.
i didn't get it because i feel bad having so many similar sized things. (ipad, ipad mini)

Since you already have an MacBook Air, perhaps sell that and buy the 13" Retina MacBook Pro ;)

My question is what do you plan on doing with the system? Will that need be met by the less powerful MBA or do you need the additional horsepower of the MBP?

Sounds like he just needs storage space..

So he should get whichever one he can afford with the biggest SSD.

Go for the rMBP, it's only £949 with student discount!
