hello

right now I am using timemachine to backup my home computer to a home NAS.
that works fine, but what if I am at work and need a file off my computer?

I am using freeNAS and it has FTP but how do I pull files from timemachine through another MACs timemachine over the internet?

should I stop using timemachine?

I also have a usb HDD drive I would like to sync.

I have never seen any method to access a Time Machine backup remotely like that. It is not really designed for remote file access.

How large and what kind of files are you talking about? If they are not too large, something like DropBox would work nicely.
