Right so, My macbook pro has gone down. It will not power on. After taking it to the genius bar they told me the power button has failed due to liquid damage (I find this hard to believe as I am meticulous in the care of all my hardware). The quote for the damage repair was near enough £360. They sent me away with a powered on macbook and told me it would work providing I didn't let it run out of battery.... low and behold, I forgot to shut the lid last night and it has died!

Is there any way I can get it back on for the time being! An external keyboard? Or way to hotwire? Without having to go back to the store and the embarrassment of asking them to turn it back on!

It is a MacBook Pro with Retina Display and therefore the Power Button on the Keyboard!

Thanks,

Mark
