Good Luck Sony & Microsoft, its stuff like this that is killing the consoles. :)

Edit:
Console + PC Games Sales 2011 - ~ $11 Billion
Console + PC Games Sales 2012 - ~ $9 Billion

At that rate we might not even see a PS5, Xbox Two.

Really not a good example as device sales always drop towards the end of a cycle. Same is true for iPads/iPhones in the quarter preceding the refresh which then catalyzes shocking headlines along the lines of "Apple is finally losing their mojo." from nitwits in WSJ and the sort.

You are aware that there was/is a recession on depending on where you live and has been for a few years? Consumer spending slows on entertainment.

Having said that, look at GTA V's record breaking sales. $1bn in 24 hours and over 30,000,000 copies sold to date. The latest Call of Duty also did $1bn in a day.

Those figures mirror the transition between the 7th and 8th console generations

Also, I'd be wary of any article that cites Flurry Analytics data. All that data comes from their blog, which is basically a slick marketing tool to get mobile devs to pay for their services.

I don't know, doesn't get me excited. I just finished GTA V on a 50" TV, why should I play San Andreas on a iPhone or iPad?

Can you take your 50 incher on a subway ride? or in your backseat? It's for a mobile device, come on, your analogy is like why would someone need a smartphone when they have a 27" iMac.
