I need to use Numbers (since Pages can't seem to do table formulas) but I'm still on Mountain Lion for work reasons. I can't download the previous non-Mavericks version because I hadn't purchased it before from the Mac App Store. Is there any way to get it? If I purchased it on another computer running Mavericks, would I then be able to download the older version on my ML machine? Or would I have needed to buy that specific version before Mavericks came out?

Any ideas?

Yes, that would work. The App Store offers a "Last Compatible Version" download on 10.8.5 for iWork.
