AppleTV and VLC app for iPad/iPhone (wont display)

Hope that you can help me.
I want to play a movie from my ipad or iphone with VLC app using apple tv and airplay mirroring.
But when I turn on the movie in the app and mirror on to apple tv it only display a logo on my tv screen - and a status bar so that I can see the movie is playing and the sound is on - but no image only the logo for a music file.
what should I do???? :?
