Hello.
I shared the Public folder and gave everyone read/write.
I deleted the drop box folder in there, but it keeps showing up..

Can I somehow delete it permanently?

thanks

I'm not talking about the Dropbox app..
Go in your Public folder. In there, is a folder called drop box. delete it. It'll show up again after a few minutes.
Can I delete that one permanently?

Again, go to the Dropbox webpage and delete that folder form there. That is what I meant.

Like he said, the ~/Public/Drop Box folder has nothing to do with the dropbox.com product.

Sorry, don't know a solution.

This might work, put it in terminal...

chflags hidden ~/Public/Drop Box

if that fails this should do it too...

chflags hidden /users/YOUrUSERNAME/Public/Drop Box

and hit enter, the folder will be there but hidden

put "nohidden" instead to bring it back

Why do you want to delete it? It's used for network transfers if you don't want to give someone a username and password. It has no connection to the Dropbox application that many people use, and is a built-in OS X feature that is not designed to be disabled.

u cant hide the top bar or turn off the boot sound that simply that u just delete those annoying files... on a mac u need apps to do anything and just hope if it works...
