I don't know if I have a faulty iPod (less then 4 months old), but it so laggy it's almost annoying to use. I tried everything (pretty tech savvy) and still lags out. This thing needs a project "butter" for android to make it usable.
Do the debug log files show anything? Low memory errors perhaps?
Is it laggy only when switching among apps? Is it laggy after a fresh reboot?
I disagree with the "three year old hardware" comment. This is the most recent Touch hardware available. I have a 3G Touch and iOS 5 runs fine on it.
In fact, has a lot of low memory errors. Several errors per day
Is the a way to tell if it's jailbroken? This was my 12yr old iPod that I recently took away for viewing porn so I don't know of he did or not. I've restored it twice using iTunes and still very laggy
I want one with T-Moblie but they don't offer it yet.

Yeah, my iPod touch 4g is also extremely laggy. I only use it for listening to music (not videos or anything) and have hardly any apps on it. Even opening the Settings app takes four tries before it actually opens...
