I have an old 2007 MacBook. I charged it but now find I cannot login. I enter my username and password but it doesn't recognize my password even though I know it's my pet's name. It evens prompts me that it is my pet's name. Still cannot login. Any suggestions?

Keyboard fault - one of the keys in your pet's name not working ?
Have you got a USB keyboard you can plug in and try again ?
When you enter each character of the password do you get a corresponding black blob (filled-in circle) in the password screen ?
