Right-Click to Toggle Between Open Files in an Application

I used to be able to right-click an application's icon within the dock to toggle between open files. However, when I right click now, I cam only offered Options, Show Recents, and Open. What can I do to enable this feature? I want to be able to easily switch between open files within Microsoft Word and SMART Notebook, and it is annoying to have to move all of my windows out of the way to access the document I am trying to switch to. I know I can use the cmd + ~ keys to switch between open documents. However, I sometimes have several documents open and it is quite difficult to open up files.
