My Ipod 3rd Gen will not add music any more from my macbook. I tried updating my ipod and it says it's updated. this is what I keep getting.

This version of the iPod software (4.2.1) is the current version.
It will not up date. I have all my music in my itunes program on my mac and I can not sync the music. My Itunes software is.
This version of iTunes (11.1.5) is the current version.

Assuming the iPod's storage isn't maxxed out and the settings in iTunes haven't changed since the last connection, it might be time to restore the iPod. First I'd reset the iPod by holding the home and power/sleep button until the apple logo appears on the black screen. Then plug it into the Mac and see what happens. If it still doesn't work, try a restore.
