Camera Gear 5-25-2014Had the Sony NEX C3 ever since it first came out in 2011 and is still going strong!
Here's my current camera setup. Canon EOS Rebel XS w/ 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens for digital. For film, Vivitar V2000 w/ 50mm f/1.9 kit lens and 70-210mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens. Got the film camera from my grandpa. Bought the Rebel on Craigslist for $100 a few months ago, sparking an interest in photography. Sorry for crappy picture, taken with my LG G2. Bought the phone for the 13MP camera, but can't use it on anything higher than 8MP to get semi-clear shots in anything but extreme bright daylight.

BEST cheapo tripod ever... so much better than even those that cost more than twice as much.

Just bought myself a new Slider. Quite impressed by this Konova metal ball bearing mechanism, it is much smoother than the cheaper one with plastic friction bearing I borrowed from a friend a while back.

Great setup! I had considered that setup myself but since I have been traveling quite a bit lately, I opted for the 60D and it's weather-proof sealant.

I have an odd feeling that my mother had something similar, oh, quite some time ago. Mind you, she took some terrific photographs with it ..
I had one when they first came out...they were terrific for what they were...snapshots for the masses!

I had a D300 and was a Nikon user myself.
I sold it all because I didn't use the equipment often enough to justify hoarding $6000 worth of gear in my closet. So 4 months before the X100 launch, I sold all my Nikon gear for a bit over $4000, and pre-ordered the X100 before I had read any proper reviews.
Once I had it in my hands, I knew I hadn't made a mistake.
The 35 and 50 mm focal lengths were my favourite anyway, and I never used zooms. Loved the freedom the X100 gave me.The X100 was my only camera for 1.5 years, until I bought an X-Pro1 on sale just to get the 50 mm equivalent lens. Expensive, I know, but I may add another lens now that my wife is pregnant.
You're going to love it.
Even though mine is slower at focusing, and isn't nearly as good overall as the X100s, I have learned to shoot very well with it, and really understand its shortcomings. Or perhaps I should say that I've refined my ability to shoot with a 35 mm focal length, and know what to look for that will work in photos.
It's going to be a huge change for you, but it actually didn't take me as long to acclimatise, since I was already shooting primarily with a 35 mm prime on my Nikon anyway.

I just got the Black Rapid RS-7 having used the stock Nikon strap for forever. It is such an AMAZING strap. So useful and convenient!
