iPhone 5 went for a swim... Works under water?

i wouldn't need it to be submersible, splash resistant would be good enough for me but I'm guessing apple wouldn't half ass it.
A large drop of water entered my iphone 5 ear piece. There was immediate lower voice effect in it.
I held it under hand drier for a little while and it became fine. But after a little while same problem.
I had to redo the drier thing a few more times, until it became ok.
It's been 3 months post incident and phone is working fine
