Hey guys,

recently I tried out the resolution switch on my rMBP15. Since the beginning I am using it with 1680x1050...

Doing: text work, heavy photoshop processing, lightroom, some d3.

So after switching in to the "optimum" resolution I fell like ..WOW .. everything seems so sharp and smooth at the same time. Although I am losing quite a lot of working space I am uncertain whether to use the 1680 or the optimum resolution right now..

What resolution are u guys using (on the rMBP - don't mean external screens)?

I've always used either of the 2 simulated resolutions for more real estate, i dont see the point in having a nice looking 1440x900 res on a 15" screen i would prefer to have a 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 native res but as thats not available, simulated will do.

In the field I use max resolution as I want to see as much data as possible on the 15" screen. At home I use an ATD's screen which has lower resolution...but a much larger 27" size that is further away.

1920x1200, I'm far too lazy to keep changing the resolution, and this res is stunning for pro tools. I also have pretty good eyesight and can zoom on the trackpad for anything that's too small.

1680x1050 most of the time.

If I'm working with plenty of content, I go with 1920x1200, allows me to fit in more information.

I run 2880x1800, but i'm guessing one of the very few. Still would have been interesting as a poll option just to see...

1680x1050 for me.

I'm not criticising Apple in the slightest here but does anyone else wish they would update the rMBP to be 3360x2100? For me that would be perfect as while running at 1440x900 looks great the real estate is pretty tiny. 1680 is for me the perfect balance.

How do I find out what resolution I'm running at?
Under System Information it shows the resolution as 2560 x 1600, but I think I'm on something like "Best for Retina Display"

Best for retina is the default scaling (for 2560x1600, it's scaled at 1280x800. For 2880x1880, it's scaled at 1440x900).

If I select the 3rd option, it'll be scaled to 1440x900 on a 13" and 1680x1050 on a 15".
