Honestly, it sounds like a lot of people on this thread haven't tried existing solutions. You don't HAVE to go case-less to keep your iPhone thin. I've been using a Caudabe Veil for months and it's done an awesome job keeping that naked feel of my iPhone but still protecting from scratches. The best part is that the case actually covers the chamfered edges. I find the edges are most prone to chipping.

Best case I've used, and I've used a lot of them, especially considering the price.

Does this case turn yellow after awhile? I've owned a couple of these clear cases and they end up turning colors.

I also believe that apple products real beauty is without a case.

But at the same time I'm too paranoid about getting scratches on my 64 GB gold iphone

Currently I'm using a full transparent case to show the iPhone's beauty. But I've already ordered a wool pouch to keep phone when not in use and plan to keep phone naked.

I also have a side and back protector film and tempered glass screen protector

I carry two iPhones at work; my personal 5s in a leather case and my naked 4s for work. After I upgrade to 6 (maybe) then the 5s will be naked as the work phone and the new one will be cased.

I keep a dedicated pocket for my phone(s) and nothing else, but carrying two of them in the same pocket while at work, I don't want them to be banging in to each other so the new one needs protection. I also like to set them down screen down and the case helps avoid smudges and scratches.

I'm with you here. Side and back clear film, tempered glass on the screen. Love it.

Nope. I have the Caudabe Veil as well and it's a fantastic thin case. It's made out of a different material than the ones that turn yellow. I think you're probably referring to those gel-like TPU cases. Those definitely have issues with yellowing. The Caudabe is made out of some flexible plastic. I've been using this for over a year and never any sign of yellowing. There are scratches on my case, but better the case than my phone!

Agree that the Caudabe Veil is a nice case if you want something very minimal to protect against scratches BUT I dropped my 5s yesterday from about 2ft and the fall caused a huge crack in the screen (over half of it). I scheduled an appointment at the Genius Bar to see how much it would be to fix and luckily they gave me a new phone at no charge (receipt shows it would have cost $269 for OOW swap). Especially fortunate considering I do not have Apple Care. As much as I'd like to keep mine naked or with a very minimal case, I decided to sacrifice for more protection and I got a Tech 21 case. I am very careful with my iPhone as well, it was just a freak drop.

Yeah, I mean it's all about tradeoffs. You can't have an uber protective case and still keep your phone nice and slim. It seems like the people in this conversation err towards wanting to keep their phones as slim as possible. I'm one of those people and that's why I love quality ultra thin cases like the Caudabe. But I'm definitely mindful that if I drop my phone on to a hard surface, id better brace myself for the worst.

Ironically though, I have in fact dropped my phone with a Caudabe Veil on to hard surfaces before. So far so good, but I'm definitely counting my lucky stars. I wouldn't expect thin cases to provide Otterbox protection.

Agree with thelookinglass 100%. Man, I would love continue to use the Veil or go naked, but after what happened yesterday (and my good fortune on the replacement front) I guess I'm just a bit gun shy to head down that path again.

FWIW - I loved the Veil.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not a huge case fan, but I do like the minimalistic look. I had the SPIGEN Thin Air on my 5s prior to getting the Veil. After awhile it started to discolor and scratched up pretty easily. The Veil, even after having it on my phone for about two months, is still in pristine condition with no signs of discoloration and is scratch free (for the most part).

Plus, I like the way my 5s feels in my hand with the Veil on it. When I don't have a case on my phone, I find it odd to hold (maybe that's because I've always had a case on it).

Thanks for the Veil reviews. I just ordered one on Amazon. That way I won't have to hide my gold iphone behind a case anymore!

I'm assuming you got the frost Veil? That's what I have - on the gold iPhone. It does feel and look awesome, but just keep in mind that it's called "frost" for a reason. So the gold will definitely be more washed out than it would look on a totally clear/glossy case. But, a lot of the gold still shows through in my opinion.

Yeah I got the frost. I don't mind if it's a little washed out. :)

As I said before, I can't find anyone here in the UK where I can buy the Veil. Can anyone tell me a similar one? Spigen? Pinlo (I think it's called?)?

Was going naked...until a nasty fall a week ago or so ago. Thank God for replacement programs, I got a brand new phone and just ordered a lifeproof case. Never taking that chance again.

I've heard the Caudabe & similar ones end up deforming after a while, since they are so thin. Is that true?

I had one of those ultra thin ones that you can find on ebay and in just 3 weeks the case was already starting to deform and not fitting perfectly.

That's why I haven't bought a Caudabe yet, I don't want to spend almost 18€ ( case + shipping to Europe ) and end up with a thin piece of plastic worth 2$ on ebay ( most companies take those cheap cases and just put their logo on it ).

I ordered a veil to the UK and loved it till it started cracking along length of the rounded corners.

After having to pay ridciuslous shipping costs and waiting a good amount of time I decided I wasn't going to bother ordering another one and happened to stumble across these when visiting my local apple store.

For less than it cost me to buy one veil and ship it over I picked up one of these twin packs. The only difference is they do not do slightly see-through grey/black version. Only the coloured & white ones are see-through.

Yes you are right. I have had the Caudabe and after some time when you take it off you can see that it curls in. Thankfully when I use it doesn't make any discernible difference as the phone fills it and stretches out any curling as such.

My biggest gripe with the Caudabe is that it started cracking along the edges and it was most defiantly not caused when removing it as I would notice them appearing in-between taking my phone out every 2 weeks or so to clean phone.

The Ozaki that I have picked up from the apple store has started to curl ever so slightly when removed from phone but is fine when it is on. It has however not presented any cracking yet so hopefully it keeps that advantage.

Being a student, I can't afford dropping my 5S. Moreover, I need to preserve resale as I will try to upgrade to the iPhone 6 in the autumn. That said, Apple Leather Case for me. :) I really like the feel of it. Of course, I had to return the brown one for a black one, as it's the only one which isn't discolored after a week.

I am using Wallee products for my iPhone setup!

You should try contacting Caudabe support. They are very accomodating. I had one minor issue with my Veil after a few months, contacted them, sent them a few photos they requested and they sent me a replacement at no charge. The new one has been going strong for a while. No curling in or any deformities.

I've bought a lot of knockoffs that seem close to the Caudabe, but they're always deficient or inferior in some way. I've bought several of the Caudabe for friends and family who invariably are wowed by the case and the quality seems pretty consistent. Haven't heard any complaints.

Yeah, a buddy of mine bought a Caudabe Veil and chipped it somehow. I think he emailed their customer service and they sent him a replacement pretty quickly. This had to have been a good 4 to 5 months after he bought it. I'm not sure what their warranty period is, but I was surprised they replaced it.

Anyway, being a lover of thin cases myself, I've being using the Veil for a while now with no issues. I've tried all the thin case variations and I keep coming back to it. I think someone else said it best - it's almost like a skin except it protects better than a skin. As long as you don't expect it to protect your phone from drops, it'll be fine. (Although I did drop mine from standing height onto the floor once and it was fine, but that's another story for another day.)

I just received the Veil and I like it a lot. My only worry is that it feels a bit slippery and I'm a little afraid that I'll drop the phone now.
