I am looking for a way to save some energy here. Right now I am running a secondary internal media drive as a media server via Playback. Right now I do not let my computer sleep it just shuts my screen off after a few idle min.

My question is does anyone know a way to have the computer sleep but still keep my files on the network to be accessed by other devices (ie xbox, playstation...)? I do have an extra hdd that I could plug into my router but then it doesn't have the software to actually serve it. I have looked at pogoplug but i don't need the cloud storage. But for 25$ it may be an option as it would save on the energy the Mac Pro is eating up just staying on all the time. I am not looking to buy a Mac mini or anything that extreme although I do understand they use a lot less energy.

As always any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
