Apple Seeds First OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Beta to Developers

Apple today seeded the first build of OS X 10.9.4 to developers, approximately two weeks after releasing OS X 10.9.3 to the public. The new beta is available thorugh the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store should be listed soon in the Mac Dev Center.

It is unclear what improvements the 10.9.4 update will bring to Mavericks, but it is likely to include bug fixes and stability enhancements. It is also unclear when the beta might be released to the public.

The last Mavericks update, 10.9.3, added enhanced support for 4K displays and restored the ability to sync contacts and calendars between Mac and iOS devices over USB.

Hopefully the wifi disconnection after wakeup, which is not fixed in 9.3, is what they are fixing with the new beta.

I had this issue in .2, in .3 its not as bad, wifi connects sooner than it did in .2.

Apple's senior vide president of design Jonathan Ive is said to be heading up the redesign of Mac OS X in the run up to the launch of OS 10.10 (codename Syrah).

A 9to5 report claims that Ive is leading a "significant" redesign and is focusing on aesthetic improvements.

Uggg! No thank you!

This is a fix for those of us that have the new mac pro and cannot view more than 2 monitors at a time caused by 10.9.3.

The way they're cranking out updates faster and faster, Apple might eventually approach Microsoft's Tuesday weekly updates.

LOL! You mean ready to show off at WWDC not ready for the public yet no way I would download if it was available now with who knows what kind of glitches

Lets hope it is free download like the last OS update or upgrade which I doubt it this time.

whats wrong with iOS 7.1.1 thats driving the urgent desire for iOS 8.0? it's a year old already and i want something new, plus it has some bugs still.

10.9 was announced at last year's WWDC, wasn't it? It shipped in October. I assume 10.10 will be the same.

10.9 is probably just barely half way through its life as top cat… err, surfing place.

Yes, but the betas will start flowing much sooner than that. This is what I assume the poster was referring to.

I went straight from Mountain Lion to 10.9.3 and I only saw a couple days ago I had the infamous Mail problem.

Only when 10.9 is of sufficient quality will I call it Sea Lion. Until then, I will call it Mavericks.

I'd like to see Mavericks iron out a few issues before it goes on the back burner. It works pretty well but there are a few niggles that could be fixed.

Mine for instance, won't shutdown on 1st try. It simply restarts from the shutdown selection. After about 2-4 tries, it finally shuts down on my Mac Pro 5,1. Problem does not exist on ANY previous versions of OS X. It's a PITA when remoting in from a different system.

My bluetooth connection with Magic Mouse occasionally freeze. I could get it back only if I restart computer. Is this Mavericks issue or hardware?

I hope 10.10 fixes the DUPLICATE UPDATES to Apps that I'm still encountering *on occasion*. As a matter of fact, I had to update to 10.9.3 *twice*

Not gonna lie, miss going up to .x.8 or even .x.11.. it just feels so.... I dunno. Bleh.

I don't feel like I got my money's worth. I paid zero American Dollars for this OS, I expect updates till at least 10.9.5.

I'm not sure... I think you may have.... I don't think you followed Apple's train of thought on that one...
