It's been a bit of a slow day today ...

Seems like I've taken my last photo with the old S2 Pro - this is all I can get now  with every lens and setting I try, including fresh batteries.

CCD burnt out?

What next - I only have very limited funds, so, D50 or D70?

Cheers :)

Already know it will cost more than it's worth, it only cost me 60 quid in the first place.
I've just bought a brand new Nikkor 55-200 VR, lawnmower and strimmer (both broke within a couple of days) and so it's very tight at the mo.

----------

I've seen a D70 at The Photographer's Shop on eBay for about £70 so I was going to get that then save up for a more recent model.

Cheers :)

Sorry to here that. We have a D50 at work which I've used on occasion. It's feeling its age a bit, but gives ok results. I can't say I have ever used a D70 to comment.

Don't worry mate, these things come in 3s so I'm done for the moment :D

The D50 didn't look as good as the D70 - same shop, same price, so I think I'll off and buy it before someone else does

Cheers :)

Photo of the Day May 2014

Viciously bright sunlight, an impatient dog and a 35mm lens that doesn't like to focus close up does not make for fun macro insect photography.

Great place Whitby - with some fantastic photo ops when the bi-annual Goth weekends are on. Took the liberty of lightening up your pic (and shaved a bit of dead sky off). Hope you like it..

Thanks Parkin Pig! Yeah it's a really nice place - we stayed mostly in York (which I loved) then visited Whitby! Only just returned now!

Thanks for the edit, it's funny I did experiment with the sky myself - I cropped it in pretty much the exact same place! Using the nice cloud to the top left as my cut off point! Hah yeah it's wayy too dark now I see it at home! I decided to under expose the photo when I took it, thinking I'd get loads of detail in the highlights and I could bring all the shadows out later in post! Hah I just didn't do it enough - I've re-edited it now - hah the photo didn't turn out how I wanted it really - I thought it was going to be nicer than it was! It kinda just looks a bit blah - I'll post the re-edit in this months photo thread.

Thanks again!
