So,

I have been looking on the internet for a macbook air 13" deal for months. New ones came out, and I almost jumped on it or the discounted model. A friend of mine who used to work for BestBuy to wait for an open box one. Finally a 13" Macbook air popped up for $869. I go there, and since i recently moved, I had a 10% off coupon. I knew it wasn't going to work, but my motto is don't take no for an answer, just don't be a dick about it. So I first open the box and say I want to see it. It's in flawless condition, but the rubber feet had some blemishes (I got those out in 5 seconds lol). I asked for the man if he could go to his manager and tell her about the blemishes and that it's not in "like new" condition (like new is out of the box condition). She knocks it down $780 for me! I was thinking "I'm about to get this for $220 off!" That took away any thoughts of possibly getting a pc laptop at that price. Now it gets even better.....I ask if I can use my 10% movers coupon and how it doesn't state I can't use it, and I said my brother in law just used his (obviously not true) on a laptop. The manager comes over to the computer in a rush, and just says $749. Like take it or leave it, I notice one thing, they are really trying to push credit cards. I am a Sales Specialist for Wells Fargo, so I know when the final offer hasn't been presented. So I said $699 and I will finance it with a credit card and buy it now. She just says, Okay done! Deal!

I have a brand new Macbook 13" Air for $670, since I have the money I opted for the 10% bonus I was eligible on rewards. Since I signed up I got $15 alone, 250 points for $5 credit/rewards certificate. I got a 10% bonus on rewards to opt out of flexible 0% for a year, and got another $5

Total: $670 for a new Macbook Air 13". Perfect condition, only preowned for a few days! I'm telling you, buy preowned new and negotiate like I did. It's so easy and I basically got 33% off! Best buying experience of my life. I got a new Mac and didn't have to settle or feel like I lost an arm or a leg! There are way to get cheap new MacBooks people!

Before it's asked it's a 4gb RAM 128GB SSD 1.4 GHz i5 and it's an a1466, so it's new. I just showing you how to hustle at Best Buy. Also, don't forget they match Amazon. Got a thunderbolt adapter for HDMI for $15 there!

Awesome story. Which hard drive size did you get? I live by best buy open box. Some of the prices they have are insanely cheap and usually in like new condition. I've bought my current MBA, mines and my girls ipad retina minis, a dennon home theater system, a tv, etc. I've never tried to negotiate the price honesty since I've always thought the open box times were a fair price. However I do go to make an open box purchase I'll give it a shot!! Enjoy your new MBA!!

They generally do not negotiate prices like a used car lot. Cool story though and glad you got a good deal.

I didn't think they did either! It might be my individual store, but they do! I talked to another guy who negotiated $500 off of an open box TV. I think open box items they are allowed to on, just do it with the manager. They have the power to override price, and if you know how to talk to them correctly, they will hook you up.
